Wesleyan Methodist Chapel

The 1851 church census indicated a capacity for 60 people. The building was used by the Wesley Reformers every Sunday afternoon and by the Primitives in the evening. 38 people attended the afternoon service and 39 the evening service on the 30th March 1851.

The land for the chapel was donated by the Yeomans of Ittingston Farm. Mrs. Yeomans laid the foundation stone on Whit Monday, 1855, and it opened on 15th August of that year.

This building was demolished without consent in 1995/96. Chapel.1855. Red brick with plain tiled roof. Dentilled eaves band. Single storey. East elevation of two bays. Central doorway with wedge lintel and plank door. Date stone above inscribed Wesleyan Methodist Chapel 1855. Large glazing bar sash under wedge lintel on either side. Steps up from road with stone coped retaining wall and railings attached to east. An unaltered example of a standard design for village chapels in the area.
