ASHBOURN
CHEESE FAIR— At this fair, which was held on Tuesday, the 5th inst., a fair supply of cheese was offered for sale. The attendance of farmers and dealers was above the average. Prices ranged from 55s. to 63s. per cwt.CATTLE MARKET— The usual monthly market was held on Monday week. No fatstock was shown, but a few good fresh barren beasts which were exhibited were bought up readily at good prices. The show of sheep was remarkably small, and sold at an exceedingly dear rate. This is the smallest market we have had to record for some time. We are sorry to say that cases of foot and mouth disease are on the increase.
