PRESENTATION AT SHIRLEY.
Mr. John Maskrey, who for 34 years has been a member of the choir of St. Michael's church, Shirley, has just been presented with an elegant carved oak timepiece, as a token of the appreciation felt for his long and faithful services, and to mark his retirement. The gift, which was subscribed for by Mr. Maskrey's old colleagues and other friends in the district, was made by the vicar, the Rev. W. R. Linton, who bore testimony to the worth and work of the recipient.— The latter made a brief and feeling response.
