On Sept. 22nd the evening continuation classes, which are to be held during the coming winter months, opened in the National School. Nineteen pupils have already joined the classes. The subjects to be taken this winter are pencil and brush drawing and practical elementary science. The teacher for both subjects is Mr. W. H. Lees, A. Mus. T.C.L. On Friday evening, Sept. 19th, the first social evening in connection with these classes was held. The members of the class and their friends, to the number of over 60, were present. There was a varied programme of songs, games, and dances, and light refreshments were served at intervals. A most enjoyable evening was spent.
