SHIRLEY
The fourth annual invitation dance was held in the school room, on Jan 3rd. There were 51 present, and dancing commenced at 8.30. A good programme of 24 dances was gone through, which lasted to 3.30 a.m. The music was supplied by five members of the Osmaston Brass Band in a most efficient manner. Mr. Lees was again responsible for the refreshments. The evening was a most enjoyable one, the general verdict of the party being that it was the best dance yet held at Shirley.© British Newspaper Archive
