ASHBOURN PETTY SESSIONS
THURSDAY, JULY 8.
(Before H. C. Okeover, W. B. Bagnall, and T. O. Farmer, Esqrs.)
Alice Holmes, a farm servant, claimed the sum of £1 5s., the balance of wages due from Wm. Pegg, farmer, of Shirley Common, from 6th Jan. to 17th June.— Complainant stated that she left because defendant's son insulted her.— Mrs Blake, who appeared on behalf of her father, denied that her brother had insulted complainant, except on one occasion.— The magistrates ordered defendant to pay £1 2s., as the balance of wages due and 16s 6d costs.
