Derby Mercury 1 Feb 1826
On the 20th instant, Mr. William Jackson, a poor deranged man living with his mother in a cottage by the road side at Shirley Common, well known to many of our readers, while eating his dinner very greedily, suddenly dropped down and instantly expired without any previous indisposition.— Inquests have been held on these occasions before Mr. Bateman, our coroner, and verdicts returned comfortable to the circumstances.© British Newspaper Archive
