SHIRLEY. Death of Percy Wheeldon. The funeral took place at St. Michael’s Church, Shirley, on Monday afternoon, Percy, youngest son of Mr. and Mrs. C. Wheeldon, of Back Lane Farm, Shirley, amid evidence of general grief at the loss of one so dearly loved. Although an invalid, he was highly respected by all who knew him. The vicar, the Rev. R. E. Coates, conducted the service, which was fully choral, the 23rd Psalm being chanted, and hymn 750 was sung. The school children were in attendance, under the supervision of Miss Scott (headmistress), who presided at the organ. The mourners included : Mr. and Mrs. C Wheeldon (mother and father), Messrs. F. C. Wheeldon, F. W, Wheeldon, J. Wheeldon, T. Wheeldon (brothers), Mrs. W. Normanshaw, Mrs. G. Wood, Miss Ethel Wheeldon, Miss Eva Whecldon (sisters), Mrs. W. Wheeldon (aunt), Mrs. F. C. Wheeldon (sister-in-law) The coffin was plain oak with brass appointments and bore the inscription, Percy Raymond Wheeldon, died February 15th, 1929, aged 13 years.” The bearers were : Messrs. C. Wood, H. Stubbs, T. Taylor and R. Wymer. Floral tributes were received from Dad and Mum ; Fred land Rose; Walter, Nellie and Audrey; Elsie and George; Frank and family; Ethel and Arnold; John and Tom* Victor; Esme; Aunty Nell and Uncle Will; Rosie and Bessie; Mr. and Mrs. Stubbs and family.The funeral arrangements were carried out bv Mr. A. Glover, of Rodsley.
