FIT TO DRIVE DOCTOR'S EVIDENCE IN HATTON MOTORING CASE
A case in which Cyprus Wilfred Nevill, Mill-lane, Shirley, was accused of driving a motor car while under the influence of drink to such an extent be incapable of having proper control, was dismissed at Hatton Police Court to-day. Nevill was represented by Mr. C. Leslie Hale, and Mr. R. J. H. Cleaver prosecuted. Dr. James Newlyn Gale, of Tutbury, gave evidence of examining Nevill, and said that in his opinion he was fit drive. Police-constable Hall gave evidence of speaking to Nevill, who, he said, smelled of alcohol, was unsteady, and admitted that he had taken a lot of drink. Nevill told the court that he had only had three glasses beer.
