120 Gns. Paid For Heifer
Top price paid for non-pedigree cattle, part of Lieut.-Colonel Sir lan Walker's well known Osmaston Manor herd of attested Ayrshire cattle, sold by Messrs. W. S. Bagshaw at Shirley Common Farm, near Ashbourne, was 120 guineas for a 1942 heifer. A pedigree stock bull, "Galley Lane Clipper," sold for 75 guineas to Mr. W. Alton, of Cropper. The average price realised for 12 non-pedigree heifers was £68.
