Mellor, Thomas
15 October 1829 – 29 August 1888
Farmer and Innkeeper at the Saracen's Head. Born in Mappleton. Died returning from the Derbyshire Agricultural show with Robert Cresswell of Shirley Hall. Mellor was thrown from their trap in Friar gate and his head "coming into contact with the wheels of the tramcar". He died instantly.
