SUDBURY On Tuesday week, a dinner was given to Mr. Porter of Foston, by his friends, at the Vernon Arms Inn, Sudbury, as Mr. Porter is about to remove to the Shirley Hall Farm. An excellent dinner was provided by Mr. Booth, which was ably presided over by A. A. Flint, Esq. About thirty sat down, The usual loyal toasts were proposed and responded to; also, the health of Lord and Lady Vernon, &c., &c. The health of Mr. Porter was proposed by the chairman, and responded to by Mr. Porter in a feeling speech. The company were much enlivened by the singing of Mr. Gill, of Tutbury, and Mr. Smithard, of Derby. The greatest harmony prevailed.
