CIGARETTES FOR THE WOUNDED AT ASHBOURNE
A hundred large packets of cigarettes have been generously forwarded by Mr. Player, of Nottingham, to Mrs. Knowles, of Ednaston, who represents the local branches of the Soldiers' and Sailors' and Red Cross Societies, for distribution among the wounded soldiers who are bing cared for in Ashbourne, and also the soldiers and Sailors who have gone from the Brailsford, Ednaston and Shirley district. This kind gift will be greatly appreciated by the recipients, and Mrs. Knowles has gratefully acknowledged Mr. Players' kindly forethought.
