Walker, Charles (Person)

(23 June 1803 – 23 November 1869)

A land owning farmer of over 100 acres at Shirley Lodge. Son of Joseph Walker and Hannah Bowman. Born in Bucknall Hollow, Belper. Died in Shirley.

On his way back from Derby market in 1827, he helped save a four year old boy who had fallen down a well somewhere near Kirk Langley.

When he died, Francis Osborne of Brailsford was an executor of his estate. Francis would go on to marry the widowed Ann Yeomans in 1872.
